School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism - George Mason University

The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (SRHT) offers exciting, career-ready majors in dynamic fields such as athletic training, tourism and events management, health and physical education, kinesiology, sport management, and recreation management. SRHT features renowned faculty, cutting-edge research, six laboratories and centers, and a diverse student body of more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. Each major requires one or more internship or clinical experiences, ensuring that students graduate not just with a transcript but with a resume that demonstrates their professional aptitude and skills.

We strive to provide a supportive, exceptional learning experience to help teachers earn the credentials they need to succeed in international schools around the world.

Hybrid courses include both online & face-to-face classes which run from the end of June to the end of July each summer. Students are eligible to stay in apartment housing on campus during the summer term. The International English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) track in the M.Ed. in Teaching Culturally Linguistically Diverse & Exceptional learners requires eighteen months to earn the teaching license and two years to complete the M.Ed.
