The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (SRHT) offers exciting, career-ready majors in dynamic fields such as athletic training, tourism and events management, health and physical education, kinesiology, sport management, and recreation management. SRHT features renowned faculty, cutting-edge research, six laboratories and centers, and a diverse student body of more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. Each major requires one or more internship or clinical experiences, ensuring that students graduate not just with a transcript but with a resume that demonstrates their professional aptitude and skills.

The Research Methodology PhD specialization prepares students for careers requiring a strong competence in research methods, either as academics or as practitioners in fields such as program evaluation, assessment, and policy.

The Research Methodology specialization provides theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for research design and methods including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed method research, as well as modern measurement and assessment. In addition to foundational courses in both quantitative and qualitative methods, the specialization offers advanced courses in measurement and quantitative research methods, structural equation modeling, scale validation, single subject/case research, qualitative case study, self-study research, mixed method research, and program evaluation.
