Site feedback

One of the more interesting ways that groups might work together is by using tools to analyze the central concepts and ideas within their projects.

Individuals can work on their own or in groups to map out their ideas using concept maps, for example. The completed maps can then be posted on a central web site so that others might offer feedback.

Individuals can also use patterning software and databases to do qualitative analyses of their data.

Drawing software

  • ClarisWorks Paint and Draw
  • HyperStudio
  • Kid Pix
  • Inspiration software can help map your data by making connections through webs.
  • Power Point
  • (or any other drawing programs)

These maps or drawings might be posted in a central area (what I call a visual gallery).

Patterning software

  • NVivo: a qualitative software program that allows for sophsticated pattern searches among text.
  • See also Data Analysis and Data Collection.

Collecting, Organization, Coding and Sorting Software

  • NVivo 7 software that can help researchers access, manage, shape and analyze qualitative data. It removes manual tasks of qualitative analysis such as classifying, sorting, and arranging information so researchers can concentrate on exploring trends, building and testing out theories.
