- EDCI 567: Teaching Social Studies in the Secondary School (3 credit hours) (OR)
- EDCI 569: Teaching English in the Secondary School (3 credit hours) (OR)
- EDCI 572: Teaching Mathematics in the Secondary School (3 credit hours) (OR)
- EDCI 573: Teaching Science in the Secondary School (3 credit hours)

Summer
Provisional License issued to career switchers who have satisfactorily completed Level I
Spring & Summer
Career Switchers seek full-time employment in a local school division. Virginia public school divisions interview Career Switchers but cannot guarantee employment.
Level II Preparation
Fall and 2nd Spring
Career Switchers who become employed as full-time teachers will be assigned to a mentor (a retired master teacher) and will register for EDCI 790 Internship (3 credits) in fall and again in the spring.
Full teaching license issued to Career Switchers who successfully complete Level II.
2nd Fall and 3rd Spring
Level III Preparation (if needed) Career Switchers who need further experience will create a Professional Improvement Plan with the school division and will continue with the mentoring provided in Level II.
