Literacy and Reading
MEd - Curriculum and Instruction - Concentration: Literacy K-12 Reading Specialists (33 credits)
A 33-credit master's degree program that includes 21 credits in literacy and 12 core credits in Advanced Studies in Teaching and Learning (ASTL)leads to a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree and reading specialist licensure for teachers with three years of teaching experience under a full-time teacher contract. The ASTL core courses assist teachers in preparation for certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). All course are taken with cohort groups that begin each year in several Northern Virginia locations.

- EDRD 633: Literacy Assessments and Interventions for Individuals (3 credit hours)
