English as a Second Language PK-12
English as a Second Language (ESL/ESOL)/Special Education Graduate Certificate (ELSE)
Introduction
- Certificate for teachers seeking cross-over training in ESL and Special Education. The certificate would be open to in-service teacher only. A core of six courses is required:3 courses in ESL and 3 courses in Special Education. Field experience would be required in all coursework.
Admissions
Currently Enrolled Students
If a student is already enrolled in one of our master's, certificate or doctoral programs, she /he would need to complete a Declaration of Secondary Program at http://gse.gmu.edu/forms/academic/DeclarationSecondary.pdf and submit it for advisor approval followed by the associate dean's approval.
Prospective Student
If a student is not enrolled in a CEHD program, she/he will need to complete the standard GMU graduate admissions application with the required supporting documentation,including goals statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts.
