All students are required to take courses, which will enable them to conduct research intended to answer a question within an educational or organizational setting.
Concentration 3: Teacher Preparation (12 Hours)
The Teacher Preparation concentration is for individuals who want to earn a MS in Educational Psychology while completing the requirements to become licensed to teach in a public school classroom. The Teacher Preparation concentration requires admission and concurrent enrollment one of the following teacher licensure certificate programs, administered by other programs in the College of Education and Human Development: Secondary Education, Special Education, Foreign Language, and English as a Second Language (ESL). Certificate programs typically involve 15 or more course credit hours and a 6 credit internship experience. For the Teacher Preparation concentration, students apply 3 courses (i.e., 9 credits) from within one teacher licensure certificate program toward their MS degree in Educational Psychology with the expectation that they will complete the teacher certification program.
The coursework for the Teacher Preparation Concentration for the MS in Educational Psychology includes:
- Three approved teacher licensure certificate program courses (9) and
