George Mason University (GMU) now offers Chinese as part of the foreign language licensure program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Students take seven pre-internship licensure courses (21 credits) plus a 6-credit internship.
In Virginia, licensed teachers must hold an undergraduate degree with a major in a content field other than education. In order to pursue licensure goals, individuals must apply to enter the Graduate School of Education, a unit within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at GMU.
