Admission Requirements
- George Mason University's general graduate admissions requirements:
- Submit an online application to the College of Education and Human Development.
- Pay a nonrefundable $60.00 application fee.
- Submit the Application for Virginia In-State Tuition Rates, if claiming entitlement to Virginia in-state tuition rates.
- Submit an individual goal statement.
- Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a GPA of 3.0 or better on the last 60 hours of undergraduate study (or admittance will be provisional). Submit two original transcripts from each institution you attended.
- Submit letters of recommendation from two colleagues and one from your principal.
- Be recommended for acceptance by the Initiatives in Educational Transformation Program.
- Additional Initiatives in Educational Transformation Program requirements:
- Currently work in a classroom setting and be certified as a teacher or have several years of successful experience as a teacher/trainer or educational administrator.
- Form a team with teachers from your school (or nearby school). Team size requirement is no less than two members, and no more than six members.
- Submit a Team Information Form with team information.
- Meet the computer technology requirements.
Note: GRE's are not required for admission to the Master of Arts in New Professional Studies - Teaching.
